St Monica Catholic church Karanjee self-help group is a registered agent under the Archdiocese of Nairobi Caritas registered trustees with the mandate of promoting pastoral and social economic activities of their members and that of the wider community through mobilization of savings and issuance of affordable credit facilities. The group is domiciled at St Monica Catholic Church, Karanjee within St Joseph Parish Limuru Kiambu County.

1. Accountant

Accountant Responsibilities.

1. Preparing assets, liabilities, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
2. Documenting financial transactions by entering account information
3. Recommending financial actions by analyzing accounting options
4. Summarizing current financial status by collecting information, preparing statement of financial position, income statement, bank reconciliations, and other reports
5. Substantiating financial transactions by auditing documents
6. Maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
7. Guiding accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
8. Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
9. Answering customer queries regarding the group operation and status of their accounts
10. Member management and investment knowledge.
11. Support audit activities
12. Any other responsibility as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor

ELIGIBILITY
1. CPA section 5
2. Diploma/Degree in accounting/Finance will be an added advantage
3. At least 3 years of relevant working experience
4. Computer literate
5. Conversant with accounting systems
6. Marketing skills
7. Administrative skills
8. Fluency in both English and Kiswahili

2. Management Members

Management Committee Responsibilities.

It is the responsibility of Management Committee to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of state of affairs of the Self-Help Group as at the end of the financial year and of its surplus or deficit for that period. The Management Committee is responsible for keeping proper accounting records, which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any one time the financial position of the Self-Help Group. It is responsible for safe guarding the assets of the Self-Help Group and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

ELIGIBILITY
1. One must be a member of St monica SHG for at least two years.
2. Must be a known member of the catholic church.
3. Must be an active member with unquestionable credit history.
4. Must be a member who has demonstrated their leadership through share contribution and prompt loan repayment with a share of at least KSHS 168,000.
5. Must not have been involved or suspected to have been involved in misappropriation of funds.
6. A member must possess a post-secondary school training in a related field.
7. Must be a person of good moral standing and integrity with respect to chapter six of the Kenyan constitution.
8. Should not be a member of the parish Pastrol council or the local church leadership.
